What is MomCo?
MomCo stands for The Mom Community, formerly called MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). MomCo is a non-profit organization that encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church. You’ll get to have honest conversations with other moms who understand the joys and frustrations of motherhood. Check out our LOPC page on the MomCo website here!
What will happen at a typical MomCo Meetup?
MomCo meet-ups begin with, of course, food! And coffee and tea...and catching up. We We then settle in to watch our MOMco video (or sometimes a speaker), each with its own individual them and topics relevant to this journey we call motherhood. We’ll talk through questions helping us to dig a little deeper. Sometimes, we’ll have an activity that relates to the topic for that day. We’ll send you home with an encouragement and application page to keep you connected until our next meeting. Our theme for 2024 is “Wild Hope” based on Isaiah 43:18-19
What kind of childcare experience should I expect at Momco Meet-ups?
Children of preschool age will be cared for by workers who have been background checked and carefully interviewed by Momco leadership and church staff. We are very blessed to be hosted by Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church with its newly renovated and secure areas for both the children and us moms. Security codes are given on each meeting day to enter and leave this area. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to Jan Driessnack, MOMco coordinator at jkdriessnack@yahoo.com.
