To what denomination does LOPC belong?

Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church belongs to the denomination known as The Presbyterian Church of America (PCA). The PCA has a strong commitment to evangelism, missionary work at home and abroad and to Christian education.

How long as LOPC been in existence?

Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church was originally organized by six families in 1996, followed by groundbreaking on the current site in 2002.  For a full history, please click here.

What is the size of the congregation at LOPC?

Our average attendance during the Morning Worship Celebration is around 200.

How many worship services does LOPC offer?

We currently offer one Morning Worship celebration at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday.

Are children welcome in the worship service?

Yes!  We welcome the presence and value the contribution of children in our worship service.  We do offer a special opportunity for four and five year olds to join their peers for "Preschool Worship" if they so desire.

What programs do you have for children and youth?

LOPC has programs for all ages which include Nursery, "Preschool Worship" and Sunday School.  We are "partnering with parents to preach the gospel to the next generation".

What programs do you have for adults?

LOPC has Adult Sunday School on Sunday mornings, Small Groups during the week, and bible studies for men and women.  Our women in the church (WIC) are a very active group which sponsor many areas of service.

How can I learn more about LOPC?

The best way to find out more about LOPC is to attend our four session Inquirer's Class that informs you about the Presbyterian faith, LOPC's mission and ministries, how how you can use your special gifts to serve in the church.

How does LOPC minister to the LOPC community?

LOPC has opportunities for service around the lake community and beyond.  We  plan one short term mission trip a year, and we support missionaries through out the world.
