KAIROS is an ecumenical worldwide ministry that brings the love of God and the light of Christ into prisions. Any army of Christian volunteers from Churches rally to become the hands and feet of Christ for inmates who come seeking anew way of life.
KAIROS is a ministry of love - God's love! The ministry focuses on bringing His love to inmates (both adutl and youth offenders), their families, and to prison officials who work with them.
What does a prison minister look like? In KAIROS, anyone can be a prison minister for Christ. Volunteers come in all sizes, shapes, conditions and capabilities. Some people actually go into the prison to work directly with the inmates whie others make home-cooked meals in a local church. Others make cookies at home and still others are able to financially sponsor an inmate for the KAIROS weekend. And even others made posters or placemats or write letters that express the love of God for even the unlovable.

The following are testimonials from some of the inmates who have benefited from this ministry:
"I would like to say that Kairos was a weekend that I will never, ever, forget. I would have never thought someone could care about me like my table team leader did. You could feel the love for one another there. For someone to just listen to me, to understand where I were coming from, meant a lot to me. It was good for me too, to see how the talks organized the Bible in a manner that you could understand it. KAIROS will forever be in my heart, and on my mind. The most memorable moment was the happiness I felt through the unity of us all. It touched my heart in so many different ways."
"I was truly blessed to be able to experience the love of God during my KAIROS weekend. The outside team always had a smile, hug, or some kind word to give me each day. The talks and testimonies, which were given to us about how God has worked in other lives, have encouraged me to surrender my heart to the will of God for my life. My most memorable moment was the "AGAPE BAGS". I received letters from everyone who told me they loved me, yet, they did NOT know me; they told me they were praying for me. There was one letter in particular that broke my heart; it was from a seven year old little girl. I learned that no matter what happens, Jesus is in control of my life and all things are possible with God. The food was great too! Just to know that people really do care about my soul, and would take time out of their busy schedules to cook and pray for someone like me.....that is love in action! I realized just how much I need Jesus in my life. This love shown to me has caused me to trust other people and that Jesus really died for me! I learned that through repentance, there is forgiveness, when I do sin, that God's open arms of love are there saying, "Yes, come to me son." I want to be able to express this same love of Jesus Christ that was shown to me to others. I am very thankful Jesus has saved my soul!"
"For me, KAIROS was an experience I will never forget. Please allow me a moment to share my past. I lost my father in my senior year in high school. He passed away with cancer. This caused a major void in my life. I was doing well until Dad passed away. From then on, all of my decisions held no value. I couldn't keep a relationship, because I was living from day to day with no goals, or vision set in my mind. My family would turn a blind eye to my problems, thinking I would conquer them. In 1997 I was accepted into a business school. During the two years that I attended, my my problems had finally reached a point of no return. I now have completed ten years of prison, and will be released soon. As far as I am concerned my life had not changed. However, Jesus sent one of His messengers through KAIROS to reach me and give me what I needed. I may have lost my father many years ago, but I got saved and gained an Eternal Father last weekend. In just one week through studying my Bible, the grief from my loss has lessened. I am not as quick to judge someone because of the way they look, or by the way they talk. I now feel that I have a family again, who are striving daily to walk in love. I pray every day now asking my "new Father" to give me strength and wisdom to help me continue this path to eternal life. God bless you."
