Joint ALC

Please join us on Sunday, July 24h as we welcome Jim & Carin Fredere during joint Adult Learning Communities at 9:30 a.m. in the LOPC sanctuary.

Fredere Family The Frederes are currently in the states on Home Ministry Assignment. In October, Carin was diagnosed with heart failure and left bundle branch block.

Jim and Carin had worked in Poprad, Slovakia for the past two years. They were studying Slovak language and culture and were involved in a small church connected with the Cirvev Bratska.

This followed their previous work in Eastern Europe in Ukraine, where they lived for six years. While in Ukraine, they assisted the Ukrainian leadership in The Evangelical Presbyterian Church of the Holy Trinity and Solomensky Reformed Presbyterian Church in Kiev.

Jim graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte with a Masters of Divinity and from Georgia College with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Carin graduated from Covenant College with degrees in English and History. Both Jim and Carin's interest in cross cultural work began during their university studies.

Carin and Jim met in 1995 while working in Ukraine with Mission to the World; they were married in 1997. Their son (Nathan) is ten years old. He began the school year at a Slovak school but is now studing at home while in the states. He swims, loves to read, has a new pet hamster, and is "into" Star Wars.
