LOPC has made several trips to Owsley County, Kentucky from our Food Bank Ministry. From August 7-14th a group of 17 will be making our first mission trip to this rural area, where the residents are challenged by their poverty each day. Many of the homes and buildings are in need of repair and the residents cannot afford to pay for the repairs themselves.  This mission team's purpose statement reads "The purpose of our mission trip to Kentucky is to provide building supplies and make repairs for four families who are elderly and/or needy. As we do our construction, we will share with them our love of Christ and the Gospel. We will also serve needy families by hosting a luncheon and helping to hand out clothing and food items for the local Food Bank; and by sharing God's love and teachings through songs, devotions, and other special activities with the elderly living in group housing in the area."
